Sheffield Cordax RS-50 full DCC CMM

Arlington has new inspectors that work 24 hours a day. Their 3 Sheffield Full CNC CMMs an RS-30, RS-50 and an RS-150. They use this to monitor the entire floor. The machines are capable of having up to 12 inspection fixtures working at one time. Operators and in-process inspectors come into inspection at the proper pre determined interval, every fifth part, for example. and check them. They select the part to be checked on a menu driven screen, pick whether they want 100% criticals, SPC, enter their initials and the serial number of the part and then press "auto" A full printout detailing the results is produced. This can easily be read by any operator in seconds. The sheet is set up that one only has to read the last column. It will indicate pluses and minuses so one can graphically see if a dimension is going towards the high or low limits and only print out a value if the dimension measures out of tolerance. The machine is accurate to .0002 volumetric accuracy or 5 microns within a 80" x 40" work envelope.
